The Saint Louis University women’s basketball team is off to a sizzling 3-0 start to the season. The Billikens got 25 points from senior guard Tyler McIlwraith as they ran right past Tennessee State 96-59. The 96 point outburst is the largest amount of points SLU has scored since 2002.

The Billikens took a 39-27 lead into halftime, but quickly extended that lead in the second half. The Lady Tigers pulled within 10 at 41-31, but that was as close as they would get. SLU went on a 20-0 run that lasted almost five minutes putting the game out of reach.

Katie Paganelli scored 19 points to go along with eight rebounds. Theresa Lisch chipped in with a double-double 16 points and 10 boards. Rachel Diener also scored in double figures with 12 points.

The Billikens will host another Tennessee team. Tennessee-Martin comes to the Bauman-Eberhardt Center Saturday looking to stop the red-hot Billikens.
