A National Guard unit with 150 members from northwest Missouri have said goodbye and soon will head to Afghanistan. The are members of the Second Battalion of the 129th Field Artillery, based in the Chillicothe, Trenton and Albany areas. Other troops from the Richmond and Independence area will join that group, which leaves tomorrow for Fort Dix, New Jersey. They’ll be in Afghanistan in January.
