A date has been set for the next federal court hearing on the way Missouri executes prisoners. The federal appeals court will hear the challenge on January 10th. Federal Judge Fernando Gaitan says Missouri’s protocol does not guarantee the executed inmate feels no undue pain. The state says its revised procedures are adequate. The challenge to the procedure was filed earlier this year on behalf on prisoner Michael Taylor, whose execution was halted a few hours before it was to take place.
