UCM To Honor Former Women Athletes

October 14, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

The Unversity of Central Missouri is planning its Homecoming celebration this weekend around many former women athletes who never received university letters while playing for the Jennies in the 1960s and 70s. UCM is calling the event “A Celebration of Women’s Athletics.”

The schedule opened last night with a reception at Elliot Union. Saturday’s events include a continental breakfast, an alumni lunch, a dinner banquet, and the annual Homecoming Parade.

University Associate Athletic Director Kathy Anderson said it will be a chance for the women to return to campus and swap stories of the good old days.
