A St.Louis policeman who hurt his neck during military service in Iraq, then lost his job at home, is suing the city police board. Former officer David Robertson’s lawsuit says he was fired in August for a “non-duty physical disability” that keeps him from doing his job. He says his injury has healed well enough for him to return to work. The secretary of the board says Robertson’s return would jeopardize his own personal safety. Robertson joined the department in 1994. He first hurt his back and neck in a traffic crash in 2001 and aggravated it while operating a heavy truck in Iraq.
