The Royals have avoided the national spotlight for much of the season. Beating the Twins 6-4 Wednesday helped them for getting national attention for at least another game.

Stuck at 99, Kansas City is one loss away from a third straight 100-loss season and fourth in five years. Mark Redman was solid on the mound pitching eight innings of three-run ball for the win. Joe Nelson gave up a run in the ninth, but recovered for the save.

David DeJesus and Mike Sweeney both homered for the Royals. John Buck had two hits and two RBI.
