D-Lineman Headed To Mizzou

September 27, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

The University of Missouri and head football coach Gary Pinkel received good news this week. Yes, the team is 4-0 and woke up Sunday morning ranked 25th in the nation. The good news however, is the verbal commitment Pinkel got from Affton running back/defensive tackle Sherman Golden.

Yes, the kid plays running back and defensive tackle. A rare combination no doubt, but Golden has rushed for 280 yards and four touchdowns in four games. He has also recorded 10 tackles.

Lat year, Golden led Affton to a second-place finish in Missouri Class 4 collecting 23 takles, a sack, 741 yards rushing (7.8 per carry), and scored 10 times.

The 6-foot-3, 285-pound senior is being recruited as a lineman and considered offers from other schools such as Kansas State and Illinois.
