Blues To Honor Hull

September 25, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

The St. Louis Blues feel it’s time to honor a legend. That time will come Dec. 5 when the Blues will retire the #16 in honor of the longtime great Brett Hull. During 11 seasons with the Blues, Hull managed to become the most visible and attractive hockey player to ever grace the Gateway City. Hull will be just the sixth Blues player to have his jersey retired.

Hull set the Blues team record for most goals in a season with 86, the third highest in NHL history. From 1988-1998, Hull also went on to set franchise highs for career goals (527), hat tricks (27), and game-winning goals (70). He won two Stanley Cups, none of them with the Blues (Dallas and Detroit).
