In the wake of severe weather that has hit parts of Missouri, Governor Matt Blunt has issued an executive order declaring a state of emergency. The executive order in response to tornadoes, high winds, hail, and flooding, is aimed at helping to direct state resources to those impacted by the weather. Blunt’s office describes it as a first step towards obtaining federal assistance. The order also activates the Missouri State Emergency Operations Plan and directs state agencies to provide support in the affected areas.
