McKee To Miss Two Weeks For Blues

September 23, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

The Blues could be without defenseman Jay McKee for its regular season opener. McKee injured his knee in a 5-2 preseason loss to Minnesota Thursday.

The injury occurred when McKee banged knees with Minnesota’s Derek Boogaard in the last period of the game. McKee is the team’s highest-paid defenseman and the Blues hate to see him go down. McKee is expected to miss at least two weeks which would make him unavailable for the season opener Oct. 5.

St. Louis will skate against Atlanta today in their third preseason game. The Blues are 0-2 after a 2-0 loss to Chicago and a 5-2 loss to Minnesota.
