September 21, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

A high-speed chase down Clay County back roads has ended with a tragic crash near Lawson, killing four. Authorities say Kearney police took off in hot pursuit of a car eastbound on Route MM. The car drove through a stop sign and slammed into a pickup on US 69. The driver of the pickup, 32-year-old Kathryn Morris, died at the scene. Her passenger, 26-year-old Nelson Clark of Hamilton, was pronounced dead at Excelsior Springs Medical Center. The driver of the car, 23-year-old William Skidmore of Excelsior Springs, and his passenger, 25-year-old T. Jay Wilson of Excelsior Springs, also died at the scene. The chase began in Kearney when police responded to an emergency call about a domestic disturbance call.
