Scott Rolen’s day off apparently did quite a bit of good for the third baseman. The Gold Glover slammed two home runs and knocked in a career-high seven RBIs in the Cards’ 14-4 dispatching of the Giants Friday.

Rookie Chris Duncan wasn’t about to be upstaged by his teammate, so he launched two homers of his own. All in all, St. Louis knocked out eleven hits on the night, which amounted to more than enough run support for stater Jeff Suppan.

Suppan gave up three runs in seven innings. The victory was his twelfth on the year.

Chris Carpenter goes for St. Louis today. He’ll take on old teammate Matt Morris, who signed a free-agent deal with the Giants in the offseason.
