An effort by Kansas preacher Fred Phelps to throw out the state law limiting protests at military funerals has been rejected by a federal judge in Kansas City. Phelps and his followers want to demostrate in Jackson on Sunday when Iraq war casualty Jeremy Shank is buried. Federal Judge Stephen Limbaugh says members of the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas will not be irreparably harmed by the law which says protests cannot be held of in front of or near funerals.
