Revenue Department Lowers Estimate of People Without Photo ID

September 12, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

The Revenue Department offers still another number for the Missourians who don’t have the kind of identification they’ll need to vote in November. The latest figure is less than 138,000. The Secretary of State had figured the total at 240,000 last month but the Revenue Department says it’s looked at her data and has decided more than 100,000 of those people can be takenoff the list. So far the Revenue Department has issued fewer than 1,9000 photo ID cards since the new law went into effect. Carnahan calls that effort “unacceptable.”
