The Cardinals hoped to win the first two games in Arizona, but last night’s performance would not allow such an accomplishment. The Diamondbacks scored early and often in a 13-1 blowout win.

Arizona’s Livan Hernandez allowed just two hits in seven innings, and he certainly got the the run support he needed. Eric Byrnes and Chad Tracy both homered for the D-Backs. The Cardinals’ lone run came on a Juan Encarnacion solo shot.

Rookie starter Anthony Reyes lasted just two and a third innings, giving up seven runs on seven hits. It was his shortest outing of the season.
