Blunt Rejects Nixon’s Legal Concerns Over MOHELA Deal

September 7, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

Governor Matt Blunt loses little time responding to Attorney General Jay Nixon’s comments about the proposed sale of assets of the Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority being illegal. The MOHELA Board is scheduled to meet, tomorrow, to consider the proposal to sell $350-Million of assets. Nixon has sent the Board a nine-page letter outlining his concerns about the proposal. Blunt says Nixon has always been opposed to the deal, adding he does not believe there is any reason for legal action from the Attorney General’s office as a result of the sale. Blunt says he finds Nixon’s opposition “astonishing and disappointing.”
