The start of another school year gives state officials the opportunity to talk-up Missouri’s School Violence Hotline, which exists to help schoolchildren who are victims of bullying and to advise the parents of the victims. Hotline Supervisor Jennifer Hunter says many kids who are under attack will call in to report on a bully. Parents can call to learn about the telltale signs that a child is being targeted – a child who claims to have a headache or an upset stomach, for instance. The Hotline number is 1-866-748-7047. It’s in service Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Anyone with school violence information can remain anonymous when reporting.
