Governor Matt Blunt is all but ruling out a special legislative session to coincide with the legislative veto session scheduled for next week. He says Senate and House negotiators have been unable to reach agreement on two important issues: the rebirth of the Medical Assistance for Workers with Disabilities – MAWD program and a Medicaid provider fraud bill. He’s now looking to early in the new legislation session in January. The Governor has said he would only call a special session for MAWD, which the House wants, if an agreement is reached on Medicaid fraud legislation, which he and Senate leadership want.
