It was an amazing run for Mizzou senior golfer John Kelly at the U.S. Amateur Golf Championship, but it all came to an end in the finals.

Kelly fell 4-and-2 to Scotland’s Richie Ramsay, and became the first St. Louisan to make the final round nation’s oldest golf tournament. Kelly’s second-place finish was a stark contrast from his 39th-place finish at the Big 12 championships in April.

The senior Tiger’s strong finish earned him an entry into the U.S. Open and should get him an invitation to the Masters, both part of the PGA Tour.
