The Columbia Little League team rebounded from a tough 1-0 loss to beat Portsmouth, N.H. 14-5 in the Little League World Series.

Columbia took advantage of seven Portsmouth errors and tallied 13 hits of its own. Leading only 6-5 going into the bottom of the fourth inning, Columbia broke the game open with five runs in the inning. They later added three runs in the fifth to end all doubt.

Landon Clapp, who also pitched for the victory, went 3-for-3 with three RBI. On the mound, Clapp gave up five runs – four earned – on 11 hits for the complete-game.

Columbia, representing the Midwest, will continue play against Beaverton, OR, Monday at 7p (CST). A win for Columbia would almost ensure them a trip to the next round.
