SLU Researchers Aid in Search for Better Anthrax Vaccine

August 14, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

A new study of an alternative to the presently available anthrax vaccine shows promise in protecting humans from potentially deadly exposure to anthrax infection. Saint Louis University researcher Doctor Geoffrey Gorse is the main author of the study. He says this experimental vaccine, which still needs much more research, shows promise in terms of immune response and protecting those vaccinated from the side effects. The study involved 100 health adults. Doctor Gorse says new trials with larger numbers of volunteers are being planned at Saint Louis University and other locations.
