The Indians made quick work of the Royals. Travis Hafner hit his sixth grand slam of the season, capping an 11-run first inning in the Indians 13-0 destruction of the Royals.

The Indians added runs in the fourth and the eighth, winning 13-0, Sunday.

KC starter, Luke Hudson, was removed from the game after recording only one out and giving up 11 runs – 10 earned.

Hafner’s homer was his 35th of the year. It also tied Don Mattingly’s major league record for grand slams in a season. The first 10 Indian hitters reached base against Hudson before he was finally able to strike out Jason Michaels.

Franklin Gutierrez and Ryan Garko later added solo homers for the Tribe. Victor Martinez and Shin-Soo Choo each had two RBI.

Rookie Jeremy Sowers didn’t take the run support for granted, pitching six shutout innings, before turning the game over to the bullpen.
