Missourians Battle Forest Fires

August 10, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

About 40 firefighters from Missouri are in other states helping fight forest fires… Conservation Department dispatcher Pat Wagoner says most of them are working with fire crews in Minnesota and Oregon. She says 12-14 Missourians are on crews in each state. Another 15 Missourians are serving backup roles in the other five states. She says Missouri firefighters also are helping in South Dakota, Montana, California, Idaho, and Utah. Wagoner says plenty of firefighters remain in Missouri to respond to fires here. She says there have been some small brush fires in Missouri in these dry times…but nothing major yet.
