The Rams will open their preseason schedule at home against the Colts, Thursday. However, those in the local St. Louis area might not be able to watch it unless they have a ticket.

The game will not be televised locally if the remaining 5,000 tickets aren’t sold. Fox will carry the game nationally. The NFL mandates that all games be sold out 72 hours before game time to prevent a local blackout.

Rams officials asked the league for a 48-hour extension, pleading that the recent heat wave and power outage in the area caused the sluggish ticket sales. The NFL granted their wish, but if the left over tickets are unsold by 7 tonight, local fans might have to visit their favorite sports bar or just buy a ticket.
