Montee Wins Democratic Auditor’s Race

Buchanan County Auditor Susan Montee of St. Joseph has won the Democratic nomination to to be the next State Auditor. In accepting victory in the Primary, Montee thanked supporters, saying the election is about protecting taxpayers from bad financial decisions. Montee stressed her position at a CPA, attorney, and elected county auditor as making her a qualified candidate. She is vying to replace fellow Democrat Claire McCaskill, a two-term State Auditor who is running against incumbent Republican Jim Talent in Missouri’s U.S. Senate race.
