Missouri’s U.S. Senate race gets its moment in the national spotlight. Senator Jim Talent and Democratic challenger Claire McCaskill have accepted an offer from NBC’s “Meet the Press” to debate the issues on the Sunday, October 8th, edition of the program. Both the Talent and McCaskill campaigns welcome the opportunity to have the candidates appear on this national stage. The McCaskill campaign points to the fact only a few, select states will have their Senate races represented on “Meet the Press.” It adds the honor highlights Missouri’s history as a bellwether in the political process. The Talent campaign says it will continue working with the McCaskill campaign to schedule debates across Missouri.
