Tuesday is Primary Election Day throughout Missouri. And, the Secretary of State’s office wants voters to be aware that the new voter photo identification law will not be in play because it is not scheduled to take effect until August 28th. Stacie Temple with the Secretary of State’s Office says traditional forms of ID that have been accepted for years are good on Tuesday. They include voter cards, bank statements, and utility bills. Voters should also be aware of changes to federal election rules and the Help America Vote Act. In some counties, new types of optical scan voting systems will replace older technology such as punch card machines. In addition, every polling place will have at least one voting machine accessible to individuals with disabilities.
