The University of Missouri football team returned to the field this afternoon. The Tigers are preparing for their first game, which will be Sept. 2nd, at home against Murray State.

Mizzou is picked to finish fifth in the Big 12 North division. Coming off a late come-from-behind win against South Carolina in the Independence Bowl last season, the Tigers will be without do-it-all quarterback Brad Smith. Sophomore Chase Daniel is expected to take the helm, but don’t count out the competition. He’ll have some pretty good safety nets in tight ends Martin Rucker and Chase Coffman. Rucker has been named preseason All-Big 12 Conference.

Safety David Overstreet will be looked upon to direct the defense. He’s been named to the Jim Thorpe Award Watch List, for the best defensive back in college.
