A million dollars or more; that’s how much a forensic examiner is estimating was stolen from Springfield’s Municpal Court System. The city has completed an internal investigation and has given the report to the city council. In it, it shows the independent probe shows that $1 million to $1.2 million is missing, dating back to 2000. City Manager Bob Cumley says records back to 1997 will be pulled and scrutinized. One employee was terminated, her supervisor resigned and the city says no other disciplinary action will be taken against any other city employees. Cumley says they’ll be seeking restitution and prosecution from the employee in question. Investigators turned up receipts for trips, baseball and concert tickets at the home of the employee which indicated she had been living beyond her means.
