Mark Teahen rescued the Royals from an ugly night of baseball as they beat the Orioles 7-5 at Kauffman Stadium, Wednesday.

Teahen hit two two-run homers and drove in a career-high five RBI. Angel Berroa chipped going 3-for-3, and Matt Stairs scored three times.

The Royals committed three errors in the first inning, aiding Baltimore as the O’s took a 4-0 lead after three innings.

But Kansas City never quit, eventually taking advantage of a struggling Kris Benson and a sub par Baltimore bullpen.

Starter Mark Redman earned his seventh win of the season. Ambiorix Burgos slammed the door in the ninth to get the save.
