St. Joseph Company Benefits from Barrier Cables

The installation of barrier cables in the interstate medians has turned into good business for a St. Joseph company. St. Joseph Wire Rope has provided more than one-million feet of the cable the Missouri Department of Transportation has installed since 2002. And MODOT says the cables work. Four years ago there were 24 traffic deaths in cross-over crashes on Interstate 70. Last year, there were six, but only two in areas where there are cable barriers.
