The Springfield Cardinals and Arkansas Travelers hooked up for an old-fashioned minor league slobber knocker. The two teams combined to hit eight home runs – three from Springfield – with the Travelers prevailing in the end 15-11.

At least one team scored in every inning except the alpha and omega – first and ninth – innings, thirty hits were produced in all. Mike McCoy had four hits for Springfield, Shaun Boyd had three RBI. Cody Haerther, Amaury Marti, and Jarrett Hoffpauir each homered off starter Nick Green.

Oddly enough, both starters factored into the decision with Green going six innings and giving up seven runs for the win. Jordan Pals took the loss allowing nine runs on nine hits in 5.1 innings of work. Rich Thompson retired a batter in the eighth and worked the ninth for the save.
