The Atlanta Braves are about as hot as a Vegas afternoon right now. For the fifth straight game, the Braves scored at least 10 runs, thrashing the Cardinals 14-5, Tuesday.

The Braves scored in each of the first six innings. Andruw Jones was 5-for-5 with two home runs and tied a career-high with six RBI. Three other players homered for the Braves. Chipper Jones hit his 15th of the year, Adam Laroche and Brian McCann also sent pitches over the wall. Chipper Jones extended his hitting streak to 18 games going 2-for-4.

Atlanta has won six consecutive games. St. Louis was on a seven-game winning streak before losing the first game in Atlanta 15-3, Monday.

Jason Marquis was the unfortunate pitcher during the runfest for Atlanta, giving up 12 runs in only five innings. Marquis leads the National League in home runs allowed with 24, three of them this game.
