It doesn’t look like the 2005-06 Missouri Tigers men’s basketball team will have any players wearing a an NBA jersey this season. Guard Jimmy McKinney has signed a two year deal with the Deutsche Bank Skyliners of the German League.
McKinney will begin working out with the team in mid-August. The team will begin playing games Oct. 1 in Frankfort.
While at Mizzou, McKinney showed his versatility becoming just the fourth player in school history to ever record 1,100 points, 400 rebounds, and 300 steals. The four-year starter led all Big 12 seniors with 13.8 points during conference play.
McKinney’s teammate, Thomas Gardner, was cut by the Spurs before the team began summer league play. Gardner still hopes to catch the eye of another team during individual workouts. If not, he has an offer on the table from a team in Belgium.
Gardner entered the draft after finishing second in scoring in the Big 12, but wasn’t selected.
