Democratic U.S. Senate Candidate Claire McCaskill plans to hit the road next week to unveil a plan to help consumers deal with high gasoline prices. While not giving away details, McCaskill used a conference call with reporters to hint the policy will focus on investment in renewable energy and not on tax breaks for the big oil companies. McCaskill says the Energy Bill passed by Congress took care of the oil and gas industry, with only a few crumbs given to the ethanol industry. McCaskill says she’s happy that some attention was paid to renewable resources, but believes Congress should have done a better job.
