Residents of St. Louis must be jumping for joy this week. Cory Spinks returned home and brought the Junior-middleweight title to his hometown beating Roman Karmazin.

Joining Spinks is another St. Louisan that’s becoming known for his powerful swing. Former Lafayette High and Missouri State student, Ryan Howard, wowed the crowd in Pittsburgh winning the Home Run Derby, Monday.

Howard’s path to the final round almost ended as quickly as it started. Down to his last out, Howard hit four home runs and past Jermaine Dye of the White Sox to advance.

The Mets David Wright met up with Howard in the final round. Visibly exhausted, Wright led off the round with four homers. That was an easy number for Howard to surpass. He hit five, and didn’t finish his ten outs, bringing another title to the Gateway City this week.
