Governor Matt Blunt’s recent appointment of Michael Kilgore to serve on the State Ethics Commission will bring the panel to full strength for the first time since March 15th when the terms of three of the members expired. The Commission’s Executive Director, Bob Connor, says having the full complement of six members will make it a little easier to get the work done, considering there was a stretch between March and May when the Commission was unable to make any decisions because the panel was one member short of the four commissioners needed to conduct business. Kilgore’s appointment requires Senate confirmation, which can only happen when the Senate is in regular or special session, so confirmation might be on hold until early next year. But, Kilgore will take his seat until then on an interim basis.
