The Blues held a press conference to introduce newly signed free agents Jay McKee and Bill Guerin. The pair was shown off by team president, John Davidson, who is new to his position as well. Davidson played for the Blues in his early playing career. He served as an NHL commentator before new team owner, Dave Checketts, gave Davidson control of the team.

Guerin was signed to the team on July 3. He has played on four teams (New Jersey, Edmonton, Boston, and Dallas) in his 14-year NHL career.

McKee, a nine-year veteran, has played his entire career with the Sabres. He was a first round pick for Buffalo back in the 1995 NHL draft.
