Congressman Todd Akin is spending a couple of days this week getting an up-close look at immigration problems on the border with Mexico. He and a couple of other members of Congress will be out with the U.S. Border Patrol and some sheriffs in El Paso to see how they keep track of Mexican immigrants. One of the trips will be at night when they’ll use night goggles to spot immigrants crossing under the cover of darkness. Akin represents part of the St. Louis area. He’s from Town and Country.
