Governor Signs Bill Strengthening Move Over Law

June 29, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

Governor Matt Blunt has signed into law legislation toughening the state’s Move Over Law and bills honoring law enforcement officials killed in the line of duty. Portions of a number of certain state roads will be designated memorial highways to honor the fallen officers. As for the Move Over Law changes, Blunt says the strengthening of the law will help save the lives of State Troopers and other emergency personnel who are pulled over to the side of the road in the performance of their duties. The Move Over Law requires motorists to move into the left lane when they see emergency vehicles pulled over on the right side of the road.
