Blunt Signs Booster Safety Bill

June 28, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

Governor Matt Blunt visits Kansas City, signing into law a number of bills, including the booster safety bill, which is designed to improve child safety when traveling. The legislation requires children of certain ages, weights, and heights to be restrained by a child passenger restraint system. The Governor signed a second piece of legislation allowing individuals who are 16-years-old to donate blood after obtaining written permission or authorization from a parent or guardian. He also signed a bill which will allow counties in the Kansas City area to work together to develop a regional transit system and levy a sales tax to cover the costs of the efforts, subject to voter approval.
