It didn’t take long, but the Springfield Cardinals finally got their first win of the second half Texas League season. Jarrett Hoffpauir did everything in his power to make sure it they got it going 3-for-4 with an RBI leading the Cardinals to an 11-7 win over San Antonio.

It was Hoffpauir’s one out single in the third that started a nine run rally for Springfield. Shaun Boyd followed with a single and Mike McCoy was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Juan Richardson put the Cards on the board with a two-run single that brought Springfield within 3-2.

Every Cardinals hitter scored at least once in the game. Four players had two hits to go along with Hoffpauir’s offensive output.

Chris Lambert allowed seven runs – six earned – on eight hits in 5.2 innings, but benefited from the explosive offense to get the win.
