Lieutenant Governor to Get New Office at Capitol

June 21, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder and all future holders of that position will be getting a new office, now that Board of Public Buildings has approved him moving to State Auditor Claire McCaskill’s current Capitol building office. Her office would move into what will become Kinder’s former digs. Governor Matt Blunt and Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder, both Republicans, voted in favor of the move. Democrat Attorney General Jay Nixon, the third member of the Board, voted against it. Kinder cited the fact that his current office is too small, and the basement where he has had to put part of his staff is leaky and unfit for daily operations. A spokeswoman for the Democrat Auditor calls it absurd and an office grab.
