Owners of the Mid-Missouri Mavericks, Brad and Gary Wendt, want to build a new stadium. Not just any stadium, a $10 million dollar stadium.

The stadium would be in Columbia, where the team currently plays it games. The City Council will look at a document detailing plans of the complex. The document contains the amount of rent the Wendts would pay the city and a fund that would pay for maintenance.

An agreement made earlier listed a 40-year rental with a flat price of $12,000 per year.

Concerns of whether the Mavericks are going to be able to stay in Columbia could halt the process. The team has suffered from lack of attendance over the years. They’ve finished second-to-last in Frontier League attendance since 2003. If the team does eventually leave Columbia, there are questions of who’ll vacate the stadium and who’ll pay for it.
