Further Delay in Baumruk Murder Trial

June 20, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

A new delay has come up in the murder retrial of Kenneth Baumruk, the man who killed his estranged wife and shot four other people in the St. Louis County courthouse 14 years ago. The judge will allow Baumruk’s lawyers to present an insanity defense and give the prosecution more time to prepare a response. Faumruk was convicted in 2001 and given the death sentence. The State Supreme Court overturned that decision later and granted a new trial. But for several years Baumruk has not been fit for trial. The court now says he is, but the trial probably won’t happen until next year.
