The Springfield Cardinals have dug themselves a big hole if they’re to win the first half Texas League North Championship. The second place Cardinals started a four game series with division leader Tulsa down one game.

They now have to win the next three against Tulsa after losing 6-2 Thursday.

The Drillers got three homeruns: two from Joseph Koshansky and one from Chris Iannetta and Joe Gaetti.

Koshansky homered in the second and the seventh to drive his league leading total to 19. Gaetti and Iannetta both homered in the third to give Tulsa all the runs they would need.

Starter Jordan Pals took the loss giving up five runs on 12 hits in six innings.

The Cardinals got a homer from Reid Gorecki. Rico Washington, 3-for-4, drove in the other Springfield run with an RBI double.
