Evans Continues Hot Hitting For Springfield

June 12, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

Terry Evans hit two homeruns for the second straight game leading the Springfield Cardinals to an 11-1 win over Arkansas Sunday.

Three other Cardinals flexed their muscles homering in the game. Reid Gorecki, Gabe Johnson, and Juan Richardson all gave fans a free souvenir. All five home runs for Springfield were solo shots.

Cardinals starter Chris Lambert won his fifth game this season. The right hander tossed seven innings allowing just one run on five hits and striking out seven. It was Lambert’s third win in four starts.

Evans was called up to Springfield Friday after leading Palm Beach of the Florida League in batting average (.311), home runs (15), and RBIs (45) in 60 games. The 2001 47th-round pick is hitting .583 in the Texas League.

Springfield (35-26) won their third game in a row. The Cardinals trail Tulsa by two games in the Texas League North.
