Governor Brushes Aside Secretary of State Concerns

June 2, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

Secretary of State Robin Carnahan gets a quick brush-off from Governor Blunt with her request for a special legislative session to appropriate money for the voter identification bill. Carnahan says it’s going to cost about $3.5 million dollars to implement the bill in time for the November election. She says that’s too much for present budgets in her agency and the revenue department to absorb. Backers of the bill say it’s not. Blunt says there will be no special session.
