Chiefs Cut Kilian, Freeman

June 2, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

New Chiefs head coach Herm Edwards sees some things he likes about his team’s roster…But then there are some things he doesn’t like. Apparently, Edwards didn’t like either quarterback James Kilian or defensive lineman Eddie Freeman because both were released Thursday.

Kilian was drafted last year by the Chiefs as quarterback project. This year’s draft pretty much spelled disaster for Kilian. On that day, he went 8-17 with two interceptions in a loss for Hamburg of NFL Europe. To make matters worse, the Chiefs drafted quarterback Brodie Croyle in the third round of the draft.

Eddie Freeman was a second-round pick for the Chiefs in 2002. He never panned out for the Chiefs which prompted Edwards to get rid of the dead weight.
