It says in the Bible that charity must start at home. The Royals were following that belief at one point this season. They could never seem to win on the road, but were a .500 team at Kauffman Stadium not long ago. Oh my, how things have changed.

Kansas City dropped their 12th straight game Wednesday losing to the Tigers 6-3. Now it looks like the Royals can’t win a game no matter where they are. They’re 2-20 on the road and have fallen six games under .500 at home, 8-14. The 12-game losing streak is the second longest in franchise history and the record of 19 straight losses doesn’t seem too far back in the rear view. For the second time this year, the Royals have lost double digit games in a row.

Things pretty much all unraveled for the Royals on four plays. The Tigers Omar Infante hit his first two home runs this season, one in the second and one in the eighth. Brand Inge hit a two-run shot in the fifth. And Doug Mietkiewicz made a fielding error with the bases loaded to allow a run to score in the sixth.

Jeremy Bonderman got his fifth win of the year. Three of his wins have come against the Royals. Todd Jones got his 15 save of the year pitching the ninth and giving up a single hit.

Jimmy Gobble got the loss for the Royals.
